The Performing Musicians Employers’ Association of Nigeria,PMAN, has praised Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Otti, for his consistent support to Nigerian entertainers battling health challenges.
In a letter signed by PMAN President, Mr. Pretty Okafor, the association expressed deep appreciation for the governor’s compassion and quick interventions for musicians and actors in distress.
“I write with a heart full of gratitude to celebrate a leader whose compassion has become the standard for governance in our time,” Okafor wrote.
“Dr. Alex Otti, Executive Governor of Abia State, has shown Nigerians and the world what it means to lead with both vision and heart, especially for the entertainment industry.”
According to the PMAN President, the governor has never turned down requests for help. All appeals channeled through the Governor’s Senior Special Adviser on Tourism and Entertainment, Hon. Justice Martins a.k.a J. Martins, have reportedly received immediate action.
“There was financial support for legendary singer Daddy Fresh during his battle with liver, kidney and eye complications. Another was the aid for veteran actor Sunny McDon from Abia State, who was fighting prostate cancer and most recently, urgent support for veteran actress Ngozi Nwosu, who is currently facing a health relapse. Whenever PMAN reaches out to the governor, he has answered not with promises but with actions,” Okafor stated.
The PMAN boss noted that unlike many wealthy individuals who ignore the plight of artistes, Governor Otti has consistently stood with them. He added that the governor has proved that leadership goes beyond roads and policies, it’s also about humanity, saving lives, preserving legacies, and honouring those who made Nigeria proud with their talent.
