‘Ajosepo’, a film directed by Kayode Kasum has joined the ranks of blockbuster Nollywood movies aiming for a box office record just five days after it was released in Nigerian cinemas.

The film which was released on April 10, 2024, has since its release raked in ₦50.4 million in revenue, according to a post on X by Shockng.

Ajosepo dominated the big screens and reportedly ranked no. 1 at the Nigerian Box Office during the Eid el-Fitr Holidays.

This feat comes after another successful Nollywood epic, ‘Beast of Two Worlds’, according to data published by the Cinema Exhibitors Association of Nigeria (CEAN), grossed an impressive ₦63.2 million in its opening weekend.

Ajosepo tells the story of Dapo played by Afolarin and Tani played by Adeoye, a young couple preparing for their wedding. It stars Mike Afolarin, Timini Egbuson, Tomike Adeoye, Yemi Solade, Ronke Oshodi Oke, Baba Latin, Bisola Ayeiola, Lizzy Jay, Muyiwa Ademola, Mercy Aigbe, Deyemi Okanlawon, Bolaji Ogunmola, among others.
