Burna Boy’s 2018 single, ‘On the Low’, which featured on his grammy-nominated African Giant album, has been certified gold in France.
The afrobeats star’s track has been streamed over 15 million times which is equivalent to selling over 100,000 copies in the country.
Burna, who posted a picture of himself and his mother holding the gold plaque presented to him, also thanked his fans for supporting the song which, according to him, received no promotions or radio push in the European country.
“On the low went Gold in France 🇫🇷 without any radio push or promo. Love every single one of you that streamed it over 15m times, it’s still #FOOTONNECK2020,” he wrote on his Instagram page.
‘On the Low’ is a smooth and slow-paced love song that has Burna Boy singing about his affection for a special girl in his life. It was produced by Kel-P.
The accompanying visuals, which was directed by Meji Alabi, has now been viewed over 100 million times on YouTube.
