Meet the 2019 All Africa Music Awards’ Winners

The 6th All African Music Awards (AFRIMA), yesterday, announced continental and regional winners in the 36 categories of the award ceremony in Lagos.

The event, which held at the Convention Centre of Eko Hotel and Suites, saw 2Baba, Burna Boy, Tiwa Savage, Wizkid, amongst others, emerge winners in their respective categories.

The AFRIMA awards is categorised into Continental and Regional categories. While the Continental category rewards African artistes irrespective of their genre of music, the Regional category recognises the outstanding achievements of African artistes within their region of origin.

Nigerian music icon, 2Baba and Congolese music veteran, Awilo Longomba, were awarded the AFRIMA Legendary Awards in recognition of how positively they have impacted the world using their music.

Best Male Artiste in Western Africa – Burna Boy (Ye)
Best Artiste, Duo or Group in African Pop – Joeboy (Baby)
Best African DJ – DJ Spinall (Dis Love ft. Wizkid, Tiwa Savage)
Artiste of the Year in Africa – Burna Boy (Gbona)
Best Artiste, Duo or Group in African Contemporary – 2Baba (Oyi)
Best Male Artiste in Central Africa – Salatiel ‘Anita’ (Cameroon)
Best Female Artiste in Central Africa – Shan’L ‘Ces’t Pas Les Gbes’ (Gabon)
Best Male Artiste in Eastern Africa – Khaligraph Jones ‘Leave me Alone’ (Kenya)
Best Female Artiste in Eastern Africa – Nikita Kering ‘Happy with You’ (Kenya)
Best Male Artiste in Northern Africa – Amiinux ‘Bini W Biwaen’ (Morocco)
Best Female Artiste in Northern Africa – Nada Azhari ‘Jrit’ (Morocco)
Best Male Artiste in Southern Africa – Sjava ‘Umama’ (South Africa)
Best Female Artiste in Southern Africa – Nadia Nakai ‘Imma Boss’ (South Africa)
African Fans’ Favourite – Mohamed Ramadan ‘Mafia’ (Egypt)
Album of the Year in Africa – Sauti Sol ‘Afrikan Sauce’ (Kenya)
Best African Collaboration – Nasty C ‘SMA ft. Rowlene’ (South Africa)
Best African Dance or Choreography – Aminux ‘Bini W Binek’ (Morocco)
Best African Duo, Group or Band – Sauti Sol ‘Extravaganza ft. Bensoul, Nviiri the Storyteller, Crystal Asige & Kaskazini (Kenya)
Best African Artist, Duo or Group in African Electro – Manno Beats ‘Akouna’ ft. Afrotronix & Vox Sambou (Chad)
Best Artist, Duo or Group in African Hip Hop – Nadia Nakai ‘Imma Boss’ (South Africa)
Best Artist, Duo in Group in African Jazz – Owen & Tiana ‘African Time’ (Gabon)
Best African Rapper/Lyricist – Nasty C ‘SMA’ ft. Rowlene (South Africa)
Best Artist, Duo or Group in African Reggae, Ragga or Dancehall – Stonebwoy ‘Tuff Seed’ (Ghana)
