Following the success of his latest movie, ‘Citation’, award-winning filmmaker, Kunle Afolayan, has teased lovers of his art about a new project.
“This time last year, we started the preproduction of #Citationthemovie, and now we’re about to embark on an extraordinary journey with a group of new faces that we’ve never worked with before,” he wrote on his production outfit’s Instagram page.
The filmmaker also revealed a possible cast – of Eniola Akinbo popularly known as Niyola, Ijeoma Agu, Deyemi Okanlawon, Kelvin Ikeduba, ex-big brother housemate; Offiong Anthony popularly known as Thin tall Tony, Eniola Badmus, Chioma Chukwuka Akpotha, Olusegun Akinremi, Joke Muyiwa, Omotunde Adebowale, Kunle Idowu famously known as Frank Donga, Bala Bello, and Oreofe Lawal whose video ‘mummy please be calming down’ went viral – all of whom he would be working with for the first time.
His latest film which examines the prevalence of sexual harassment in tertiary institutions received rave reviews as a Netflix Original. It starred debutants such as Dr. Ibukun Awosika and Temi Otedola.
Afolayan however hasn’t let the cat out of the bag yet on the new flick, but TCN reliable gathered that the new work is a film adaptation of a popular vmcerebral novel by a top Nigerian female writer.
“It is set in the mid-80s and will be entirely shot in Lagos come January 2021,” an authoritative source told TCN.
