Kogi State government under the leadership of Governor Yahaya Bello will host this year’s edition of the Best of Nollywood (BON) Awards slated for December 11, 2021.
The governor said he accepted to host the awards, which is in its 13th edition, because of the vital role the industry plays in the country.
He added that Nollywood has played a significant role in fostering unity within the nation and is worthy of support.
An official statement by the organisers of the event states that while hosting rights have been claimed, a later date will be set for the presentation of the hosting certificate.
The founder of BON Awards, Seun Oloketuyi, also said there will be a reading session in Lokoja on Children’s Day, May 27, prior to the presentation, which will feature selected Nollywood stars who will entertain the children by reading to them.
Oloketuyi added that this year’s edition of the awards will be the biggest so far; since its maiden edition in 2009.
