Award-winning filmmaker, Kemi Adetiba, has announced that her much-anticipated film, ‘King Of Boys 2’ will be a Netflix original.

Adetiba, who broke the news on social media through an Instagram post, wrote: “We’re editing KOB 2 and trying to organize all assets in proper order etc, and it hit me… So that big, flashing, neon-red @netflix “N” is gonna come first… Then my production company’s logo and then a “NETFLIX presents…” right after.”

It’s prequel, ‘King Of Boys’ had box office success and was well received by film lovers who expected the filmmaker to deliver as she did with her 2016 film ‘The Wedding Party’.

‘King Of Boys 2’ written, produced, and directed by Adetiba, will star Sola Sobowale, Remilekun “Reminisce” Safaru, iLLBliss, Richard Mofe-Damijo, Nse Ikpe Etim, Efa Iwara, Toni Tones, Jide Kosoko, Osas Ighodaro among, others.

The cast and crew concluded shooting last month and the project is currently in post-production stage.

Adetiba’s announcement came after the disclosure by NetfixNaija in October that it would release three Netflix Original Nigerian films – Oloture, directed by Kenneth Gyan in October; The Citation by Kunle Afolayan in November and King of Boys 2 in 2021.
