The Hattiesburg Pocket Museum’s June exhibit has turned trash into works of art.
According to the United States Environmental Protection Agency, each person produces an average of 5 pounds of trash a day for a total of 293 million tons of trash per year.
But not all trash is destined for a landfill.
Instead, it is recycled into art.
Pine Belt artist Caren Loy has taken trash and created critters, curious little beings, much like artists.
So, visitors can let their curiosity run wild as they gaze into the tiny critter museum and imagine what can be made from found or discarded materials.
