Afrobeats star Burna Boy has declared that he has moved beyond the popular ‘Big 3’ classification that groups him with Wizkid and Davido.
The singer made the statement during a recent performance, reigniting debate over the ranking of Nigeria’s biggest music stars.
In a clip from the show, Burna told the crowd, “Next time anybody tells you anything called the ‘Big 3’, tell them that there’s only the ‘Big 2’ and then there’s Burna Boy.”
The ‘Big 3’ tag has long described Burna, Wizkid and Davido, the three artistes widely credited with driving the global acceptance of Nigerian music.
