Coal City Film Festival Announces 2025 Edition

The Coal City Film Festival (CCFF) has announced its 2025 edition, scheduled take place from March 27-29 in Enugu State.

The festival’s founder and director, Uche Agbo, expressed excitement about the diverse range of films selected for this year’s event.

The 2025 lineup includes feature films, documentaries, short films, and animations from talented filmmakers across Nigeria, Africa, and beyond. The films were carefully chosen based on their storytelling, technical excellence, and cultural relevance.

Themed ‘Homecoming for the Vulture’, the festival aims to celebrate legends and fore-runners of the industry and also creating a mentorship opportunities for emerging filmmakers.

According to Uche Agbo, “Coal City Film Festival has continued to serve as a global platform for filmmakers to showcase their talent, engage with industry stakeholders, and celebrate African storytelling. The 2025 edition promises to be our most vibrant yet.”

The festival will also feature panel discussions, workshops, networking sessions, and masterclasses facilitated by top-tier professionals in the industry.

Additionally, the 2025 edition will introduce new industry initiatives aimed at fostering collaborations and investments in the African film industry.

The prestigious Coal City Awards will also take place during the festival, recognizing outstanding achievements in filmmaking, acting, directing, and other key categories.
The full list of selected films and the festival schedule will be available on the official Coal City Film Festival website and social media channels.

CCFF is an annual event dedicated to celebrating the best of African and global Cinema while positioning Enugu as a vibrant hub for the creating industry.

Since its inception, CCFF has attracted filmmakers, actors, producers, and film enthusiasts from all around the world, promoting meaningful conversations and collaborations within the film sector.

This year’s edition will be value-packed and with the motive to keep promoting Nigeria film industry and Africa at large.
