As the attention of the Nigerian, nay African film circuit shifts to the African International Film Festival (AFRIFF), Bolanle Austen-Peters’ latest cinema offering, Collision Course, has been announced as the closing film.

AFRIFF holds in Lagos between November 7 and 13th with much fanfare as this year’s edition marks its 10th anniversary.
Collision Course will thus have its Nigerian premiere as the closing film of AFRIFF on November 12th.

According to Bolanle Austen-Peters, who is the producer of multiple award-winning “93 Days” and director of the block-buster, high- grossing “The Bling Lagosians”, she is happy to have AFRIFF organisers announce the selection of her new movie as the closing film of the celebrated festival.

In an announcement at a press conference by the organizers, Collision Course was selected as the festival’s closing film from the array of entries received.

Festival closing films are typically the centrepiece film at festivals and are important films that satisfy the festival’s critical screening and review criteria for it to deserve the closing night spotlight.

Collision Course was directed by Nrs Austen-Peters and produced by Joseph Umoibom and James Amuta.

BAP Productions is a frontline Nigerian theatre and film production company with the objective of promoting the abundant creative energy in Africa.

Featuring  Chioma Akpotha, Daniel Etim Effiong, Kelechi Udegbe, Ade Laoye, Kenneth Okolie, Bimbo Manuel, Gregory Ojefua, Bamike Olawunmi-Adenibuyan (BamBam), Kalu Ikeagwu, and Nobert Young among others, Collision Course is a heart-thumping story told in 24 hours; dwelling on the lives of a law enforcement agent, a young man and some rogue elements in the society. It is set against the background of the anti-police brutality demonstrations that rocked many cities in Nigeria in 2020.

In its 10th year, AFRIFF is one of the foremost film festivals in Africa and a major player in the showcase of African film and film makers. The festival will be running from November 7th at the Landmark event centre with Collision Course closing the festival on November 12th.
