Nigerian Afrobeats singer, Burna Boy, and Colombian singer, Shakira, have achieved a major milestone with their joint track, “Dai Dai”.

According to the view count on Shakira’s official YouTube channel, the song’s official music video has crossed the one-billion views mark.

The figures were independently checked and are based on views from the video on Shakira’s channel. Released in May, the collaboration combines Shakira’s Latin-pop sound with Burna Boy’s Afrobeats style, highlighting the international appeal of both artistes.

“Dai Dai” was officially named the Official Song of the FIFA World Cup 2026™.

Royalties from the track will support the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund. Shakira has previously recorded football-related songs, including “Waka Waka (This Time for Africa)”, the official song of the 2010 FIFA World Cup.

This latest achievement further boosts Burna Boy’s global profile and underscores the growing international reach of Nigerian Afrobeats.
