Courtesy of an array of sponsors, and in the spirit of Eid, Nigerians would watch Live Theatre Lagos’ ‘What Men Want’ on Saturday, May 15 at Alliance Francaise, Ikoyi, free of charge.
The play, directed by Ajibola Fasola and produced by Oluwanishola Adenugba, examines women’s challenges in marriage while exposing men’s inadequacies and ultimately charging them to start living and quit being the only “defender” of a union that involves two.
While society puts pressure, including when to marry and to keep the marital fire burning with a “how to keep your marriage” booklet for women, men appear to get a free pass. It’s the wives that must imbibe the marriage manuals, sacrificing their happiness and sometimes career/dreams while the men are free.
Featuring Diana Agbede and Eferoghene Awusa, ‘What Men Want’ highlights the attitudinal and life changes in marriage. It showcases how men and women struggle to determine the best forms of behaviour to maintain a good and successful marriage.
The free to attend play which, however, requires seat reservations at www.livetheatrelagos.info, is supported by Seven-Up Bottling Company, LIRS, TecnoMobile, Stanbic IBTC, Maggi, Lasena Water, Lifemate Furniture, Merakhi Kitchen and AccelerateTV. Other supporters are The Lagos Review, Creative Kloud HUB, Lasena, MediaCrush, Africa Movie Channel, RoyalRoot TV, TrybeTV and OnTVMax.
