The second edition of the Ibadan Affordable Art Fair will hold from December 6 to 8, organisers have announced.
It will feature an array of artworks including ceramics, embroidery, photography, sculpture and paintings by several artists who live in the city.
Some of the artists showing at the fair whose first day is strictly for guests include Fagorusi Segun, Ife Olojede, David Olatoye, Kiladejo Peter, Adulphina Imuede, Bolaji Aremu and Bola Opadiran. Others are Adesola Ayo, Oluwole Omofemi, Victor Olaoye and Toromade Tosin.

Speaking on the fair, the initiator, Oyinda Adelumola, explained that it arose out of the need to restore Ibadan’s artistic legacy.
She said the “idea came about because Ibadan was once the centre of art and culture. We want to put Ibadan back on the map for art; making it a focus and locus in addition to Lagos that is already densely concentrated. We want to expand the market for art away from Lagos and bring more people to the art collecting fold.”
Adelumola added that the fair would feature music, children’s art class and poetry amongst others.
