11 Stories Longlisted For 2nd Toyin Falola Prize

Eleven stories from five African countries have made the longlist of the 2nd Toyin Falola Prize. LUNARIS, the organisation that instituted the prize in honour of eminent African scholar and foremost historian Professor Toyin Fálọlá, disclosed last Tuesday that the 11 stories were from 495 eligible entries received.

The stories are ‘Hold Day’ by Ghana’s Nana Adwoa Tweneboah Amponsah-Mensah; ‘Iphopho Le Vezandlebe’ by South Africa’s Tshepiso Mabula; ‘Scars Without a Wound’ by Nigerian David Okigbo; ‘Breaking the System’ by Adewunmi Aboyade and ‘Sinmot’ by Blessing Nwodo from Nigeria.The others are ‘Inside the Eye’ by Kenyan, Racquel Anyango; ‘Eavesdroppers’ by Nigerian, Mary Ann Egbudom; ‘Should have listened to Mother’ by South African, Mandisi Nkomo and Lotanna Rising’ by Nigeria’s Michael Nwanolue.
