London’s entertainment landscape is set for a massive surge of rhythm and culture as the Ilaje Welfare Association (IWA) UK & Ireland Chapter brings the 20th annual Ilaje Day to Haberdashers’ Hatcham College (SE14 5NY) this Saturday, August 22, 2026.
Hot off the heels of their show-stopping performances at the 40th anniversary of C&S Church of Zion Imole UK in Hackney, Zion gospel powerhouses Evangelist Lekan Remilekun Amos and Apostle Debo Ojubuyi will take center stage. The musical titans promise an electrifying live concert experience featuring their signature energetic beats and soul-stirring melodies.
Beyond the music, Ilaje Day 2026 offers a sensory celebration of the aquatic heritage of Ondo State’s coastal region, paired with a major initiative to raise funds for critical hospital equipment in Nigeria.
WHAT TO EXPECT AT ILAJE DAY 2026:
Headline Concert: Live performances by gospel icons Lekan Remilekun Amos and Debo Ojubuyi.
Cultural Spectacle: Traditional boat regatta displays and live, rhythmic Biripo music and dance performances.
A Taste of the Coast: Interactive heritage exhibits alongside a showcase of authentic Ilaje cuisine.
Red Carpet Royalty: Special appearances by distinguished traditional and spiritual leaders, including HRH Oba Dr. Samuel Olumide Adeoye Edema (Molokun of Atijere Kingdom), King of Zion Dr. Mobolorunduro Ogunfeyimi (Atarioye Ajigbade II), King of Zion Dr. Judah Adeogo Oluwole (Oluwagbade V), Justice Orimisan Okorisa, and Rev. Ap. Olu Legbe.
”This isn’t just an event; it’s an immersive cultural experience and a party with a purpose,” said IWA Social Secretary & Chairperson Chief Mrs. Benedita Akingboye. “We’re bringing the rich, vibrant energy of our coastal roots straight to London while giving back to our local health facilities.”
