Tanzanian Police Arrest, Release Kizz Daniel After Failing To Perform At Concert

Nigerian singer, Oluwatobiloba Daniel Anidugbe, popularly known as Kizz Daniel has reportedly been arrested by the Tanzanian Police.

Kizz Daniel was said to have been arrested for not showing up at a concert he was billed to perform at the Warehouse, Old Nextdoor Arena on Sunday.

Angry fans called the singer out on social media, expressing displeasure over his failure to show up.

According to reports, the show’s promoter alleged that the singer refused to mount the stage because he claimed to have forgotten his travelling bag containing his clothes and gold chains in Uganda.

However, the angry fans, some of who reportedly paid up to $5000 for tables, were seen hurling bottles at each other and on stage and destroying properties at the event centre.

A viral video of the arrest showed the singer wearing a hooded jacket and being led into a police vehicle.

The ‘Buga’ crooner was however released later and is expected to leave the country for Nigeria later.

Giving an update on the issue, Chairperson of the Nigerians In Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM), Abike Dabiri-Erewa, in a terse statement said: “Kiss Daniel has been released. His legal team will however report back to the police tomorrow while he will subsequently return back to Nigeria.”

Recall that the singer had last month kept fans waiting for hours at his DMV concert in New York, USA but later blamed his no-show on immigration challenges.
