The Chief Whip of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Moji Meranda, will lead the ceremony to unveil the nominees for the upcoming Nollywood industry awards event, Best of Nollywood Awards, which will be be taking place in Owerri, Imo State’s capital in December.

In a press statement to the media, the founder of the awards scheme, Seun Oloketuyi, said the choice of Meranda was an easy pick as the Lagos princess, politician and a movie buff fits the bill perfectly.

“While it is a honour for us as organisers to have Hon. Moji Ojora-Meranda to unveil one of the most respected awards events in Nollywood, we feel it is also a way of appreciating a woman of valour, who has done so much in politics and in her own little way, contributed to the growth of the Nigerian movie industry,” Oloketuyi explained.

BON Awards, which is in its 14th edition, had earlier announced the veteran Nollywood practitioner, Francis Onwochei, as the new head of the jury.

The nominees unveiling event comes up at the Class Suite Signatures in, Opebi, Ikeja, Lagos this Monday October 31 as an evening soiree.

The main awards ceremony is scheduled to hold on December 3, 2022 at the International Conference Centre in Owerri, Imo State, an edifice that was recently renovated by the state government.

“We’ve taken the 14th edition of the awards event a notch higher by ensuring that it’s at par with the best of what is obtainable in the world and it can only get better from here,” Oloketuyi disclosed.
