The literati interested in knowing more about the mystique of Aliko Dangote, other than the fact that he is Africa’s richest man, are in luck as Sunshine Bookseller, Ibadan, Oyo State now has in stock ‘Aliko Mohammad Dangote: The Biography of the Richest Black Person in the World’
Written by Moshood Ademola Fayemiwo and Margie Marie Neal, the book initially published in 2013, had been out of print but is now available.
The authors, who spent 16 months researching the work in Nigeria/Africa from their US-base, answer pertinent questions concerning Dangote’s background and his stupendous wealth.
The book answers questions, including how he invested a $500 loan and turned the then-fledgling enterprise into the most significant business conglomerate in Nigeria and West Africa in 36 years.
The independently researched work also highlights Dangote’s success secrets that aspiring entrepreneurs can adopt.
Unsurprisingly, commentators have praised the book. Director of the African Studies Centre and Rhodes Professor of Race Relations at the University of Oxford, Wale Adebanwi, said, “This book is a compelling narrative about an exceptional African entrepreneur.”
The Huffington Post noted, “in a land lacking a culture of independent biography, this is a starting point, and Dangote is a promising introduction to the fascinating and still largely unmapped universe of one of the world’s richest men.”
Gloria Espinoza, Adjunct Professor, Dominion University, River Forest, IL, US, also said, “this is a highly inspirational and engaging book on the success of a rich man. The words are superb, and the narrative is engaging.”
