Afrobeat virtuoso Seun Kuti, son of the legendary Fela Kuti, is poised to release his latest musical masterpiece, “Heavier Yet (Lays The Crownless Head).”
This album comes six years after his Grammy-nominated project “Black Times” and marks a significant evolution in Kuti’s career as both an artiste and an activist.
Produced by music icon Lenny Kravitz and Fela Kuti’s original engineer Sodi Marciszewer, “Heavier Yet” promises a unique sonic experience that honors the roots of afrobeat while pushing contemporary boundaries. With their combined expertise, the album is set to redefine musical landscapes.
The six electrifying tracks within “Heavier Yet” embody themes of resistance, resilience, and revolution. The song “T.O.P.” critiques society’s prioritisation of money and success over human connection, promoting empathy and a reconnection with nature.
