The Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) has inaugurated a three-man Asset Recovery Panel to trace and reclaim properties and resources belonging to the guild that have been lost or misappropriated over the years.
AGN National President, Dr. Emeka Rollas, unveiled the panel during an interactive session with the guild’s Board of Trustees (BOT) in Abuja, where the new national secretariat was also formally presented.
The committee, chaired by Onwurah Ifeanyi with Garba Muazu as secretary and Sydney Diala as member, has been tasked with recovering cars, buses, furnished offices, landed property, equipment, and other assets allegedly mismanaged or appropriated by past leaders.
“Over the past two decades, the Guild has lost several valued assets. This panel is empowered to trace, identify, and recover these properties, working with government agencies like the Police, EFCC, and ICPC,” Rollas said. “This step will restore what is rightfully ours while strengthening accountability and integrity within the Guild.”
Rollas, who is serving his final term, also announced that the BOT has inaugurated the AGN Electoral Committee to conduct the next national elections. Reflecting on his tenure, he highlighted achievements including unifying members, making the guild more visible internationally, launching a retail health management plan, and introducing the AGN Super App to enhance member benefits.
He expressed gratitude to the BOT for their consistent support over the years, saying it had enabled his leadership team to deliver on their mandate. BOT Secretary, Sonny McDon, commended Rollas for his commitment and lauded his contributions to strengthening the guild.
