Leila Aboulela, Tochi Onyebuchi, Molara Wood, Others For 3rd Afrolit Sans Frontieres

The schedule for the third season of Afrolit Sans Frontieres, which will run from May 25 to June 1, 2020, has been released.

This year’s festival is themed: “Past. Present. Future.”

Afrolit Sans Frontiers is a virtual literary festival for African writers. It was started in March by Zukiswa Wanner as a result of the global restrictions of the Covid-19 pandemic.

The third season will be curated by Mohale Mashigo and Zukiswa Wanner and will feature some of the leading names in African writing. Sixteen authors from 13 countries are expected to stream from 15 cities in English, French, and Portuguese during the festival.

All sessions will run on the official Afrolit Sans Frontieres Instagram page.

Below is a schedule of the 8-day literary festival:

Monday, May 25.

1pm: Dilman Dila from Kampala, Uganda hosted by Mohale Mashigo.

7pm: Tochi Onyebuchi from New York, USA hosted by Mohale Mashigo.

Tuesday, May 26.

1pm: Vamba Sherif from Amsterdam, Holland hosted by Troy Onyango.

7pm: Ayesha Harruna Atta from Dakar, Senegal hosted by Bisi Adjapon.

Wednesday, May 27.

1pm: Beata Umubyeyi Mairesse from Bordeaux, France hosted by Merdi Mukore.

7pm: Max Lobé from Geneva, Switzerland hosted by Zukiswa Wanner.

Thursday, May 28.

1pm: Masande Ntshanga from Cape Town, South Africa hosted by Rémy Ngamije.

7pm: Mubanga Kalimamukwento hosted by Rémy Ngamije.

Friday, May 29.

1pm: Tsitsi Dangarembga from Harare, Zimbabwe hosted by Natasha Omokhodion-Kalulu Banda.

7pm: Leila Aboulela from Edinburgh, Scotland hosted by Natasha Omokhodion-Kalulu Banda.

Saturday, May 30.

1pm: Virgília Leonilde Tembo Ferrão from Maputo, Mozambique hosted by Kalaf Epalanga.
