Lagos to Host Maiden Edition of Amala Festival

The maiden edition of Amala Festival, which is targeted at showcasing and celebrating the ‘Amala’ delicacy, a native food that serves the mixed population of several races in cosmopolitan Lagos, will hold from Nov. 29 to Nov. 30, 2019.

Amala festival will bring together local food vendors, food cafes, restaurant and fresh food outlets under one umbrella to showcase their art and culinary dexterity. It also seeks to promote local businesses, as well as create a vibrant and harmonious community atmosphere for people of all ages to enjoy.

The fest promises to create a cultural expo upholding local and national heritage in the area of food under one umbrella to display their art and culinary adeptness.

Side attractions include, games arena and unique entertainment from diverse cultures while enjoying the unique ‘Amala’ cuisine.

Amala festival is an initiative of Image Consultant and Sports Management Services Limited (ICSMS).

The event is scheduled to hold at the Eko Atlantic Laneway, Victoria-Island, Lagos between 8.00am and 10.00pm daily.

The Lagos State Commissioner for Tourism, Arts and Culture, Olufunke Adebolu; Royal Fathers; Iyaloja General, Folashade Tinubu-Ojo; and other VIP guests from different walks of life are expected to grace the fiesta.

Marquees will be available at Eko Atlantic laneway to provide a shade at the seating area for all attendees/visitors and stalls for the participating vendors, as well as spaces for cooking demonstrations. Vendors will offer a range of Amala cuisine with its complimentary soups and beverages options during the fair.
