The second edition of the French-Nigerian Cinema Co-Production Meeting is slated for July 7 and 8 at the Alliance Francaise, Mike Adenuga Centre in Ikoyi.
The organisers of the event, the French Consulate in Lagos, has also made a call to producers, directors and or writers to submit applications for projects seeking co-production assistance.
The event aims at connecting Nigerian professionals with French producers who are interested in developing French-Nigerian co-productions in feature films and TV series, in the fiction and animation genres.
According to a statement from the organizers made available to TCN, the applicant must have produced at least two feature-length films released in cinema theatres in Nigeria and/or selected in renowned Film Festivals with an exception for animated movies.
For the TV series, the applicant must have produced a TV series that was acquired by a major broadcast station.
The deadline for submissions is March 1, 2020 while the official selection will be announced on the April 1, 2020. Up to 10 projects are expected to be selected at the end if the exercise.
To be eligible for selection, the applicant is required to submit a proposal as one file in word format in English language while the picture should be sent in PDF format with a minimum size 2mb and a maximum size 4mb as incomplete application documents will not be reviewed.
Project representatives (producer, director and/or writer) will attend the two-day pitching training that will be organized before the French-Nigerian Cinema Days on the 7th and 8th of July 2020, the statement added.
