In what appears to be the end to a tragic past few years, popular Nollywood actress, Ada Ameh, has died at the age of 48.

Her death came almost two years after she lost her only child, Aladi Godgift.

Aladi Godgift, who the actress had at a young age was over 30 years old when she died after undergoing an unsuccessful surgery in October 2020.

Ameh was said to have been a guest of an oil company official and his family when she suddenly collapsed.

A source who pleaded anonymity said on Monday morning that the popular actress later died in Warri, Delta State around 11 pm on Sunday.

The popular actress had earlier shared a video of herself eating with the family around 12:53 pm on Sunday on her official Instagram page before death came calling later at night.

She captioned the video with the following words; “This trip for my friend’s elder sister, is just an enjoyment galore!!! Thanks, my darling sister PhilError! Filename not specified.️Error! It was gathered that she was rushed to the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) hospital shortly after she slumped but passed on before they arrived at the facility.

However, several movie stars have been trooping to the facility on Monday morning to see her remains.

Ameh, although a native of Idoma in Benue State, was born and raised in Ajegunle in Lagos State on May 15, 1974. She received both primary and secondary school education in Lagos State.

Her journey into Nollywood began in 1995, she, however, received her first movie role in 1996 when she played the character Anita in the movie “Domitila” a movie that eventually became a successful and solid project. The movie was produced and directed by Zeb Ejiro.

Ameh gained immense fame for her comic characters, especially in the series The Johnsons which also became a successful project that received awards.

Some of the block-busters she acted in include Aki Na Ukwa, Phone Swap, Blood Money, Atlas and Òlòtūré.

Others include Our Husband, King Of Shitta, Ghana Must Go, A Million Baby, One Good Turn, Double Trouble and My Village People.
