Nigerian singer, Fireboy DML, was moved to tears last Wednesday after performing ‘Peru’ on stage alongside multiple award-winning British singer and songwriter, Ed Sheeran.
The singer, visibly unable to control his emotions, broke down in tears in a video that has since gone viral.
The performance held at Wembley Stadium, London, which has about 90,000 capacity and had Ed Sheeran perform for five nights from 24 June till Friday July 1.
Fireboy released ‘Peru’ in July 2021 which hit the global waves and caught the attention of Ed Sheeran, who hopped on it for a remix after admitting that he found the song addictive.
Two weeks ago, the song equalled Ckay’s ‘Love Nwatiti’ six weeks record atop the Billboard Afrobeats Song Chart.
Just last month, the chart-topping tune was certified gold in France after selling 100,000 copies.
