Just after clinching the BET Best International Act Awards for the year in review,
Afrobeat singer and songwriter, Burna Boy might be winning the prestigious Grammy
Award.
Burna Boy’s fourth studio album, ‘African Giant’, was nominated for World Best
Album in the 62nd Annual Grammy Awards scheduled to hold January 27, 2020 at
the STAPLES Centre, Los Angeles.
The Afrobeats star was nominated in the category alongside Altin Gün for Gece,
Bokanté & Metropole Orkest conducted by Jules Buckley for What Heat, Nathalie
Joachim with Spektral Quartet for Fanm D'Ayiti, and Angelique Kidjo for Celia.
American rapper, Lizzo, led the nomination pack with eight nominations while Billie
Eilish and Lil Nas X got six nominations each.
Burna Boy joins the trio of Seun Kuti, Femi Kuti and King Sunny Ade who have also
been nominated for the category of the award.
