Play Network Studio has disclosed plans to embark on a film project that follows the criminal life of notorious armed robbery kingpin, Shina Rambo.
Film Executive, Charles Okpaleke, in an Instagram post, said he recently secured intellectual property rights to produce the feature film after exhaustive conversations with the ex-bandit turned pastor.
“I sat down for three hours and listened to a former bandit and armed robbery kingpin who terrorised Southwest Nigeria in the 90s. Though he’s now a pastor preaching the gospel, his story was intriguing. I decided to acquire the Intellectual property rights to his story and make it an action packed feature film. His name is Shina Rambo,” Okpaleke wrote.
Shina Rambo, as he was infamously known, was a dreaded armed robber feared mostly for his fetish methods which made sensational headlines back in the 90s.
This latest addition joins a list of films and remakes scheduled for production by Play Network Studio, some of which includes ‘The Six’, a sequel to his 2018 debut film, ‘Living In Bondage: Breaking Free’.
Okpaleke had, in November 2020, announced that his production outfit would remake Kenneth Nnebue’s ‘Glamour Girls’, this year.
