Organizers of Glastonbury Festival of Contemporary Performing Arts, have gone ahead to announce its 50th anniversary lineup despite Coronavirus fears.
The extensive lineup for this year, which was unveiled last week, features Burna Boy, as well as fellow Nigerian musician Seun Kuti, and Zambian artiste, Sampa the Great.
“As things stand we are still working hard to deliver our 50th anniversary festival in June.
“We are very proud of the bill that we have put together over the last year or so.
“No one has a crystal ball to see exactly where we will all be 15 weeks from now, but we are keeping our fingers firmly crossed that it will be here at Worthy Farm for the greatest show on earth,” the festival’s co-organiser, Emily Eavis wrote in an Instagram post.
This year’s Glastonbury festival will feature headliners such as Kendrick Lamar, Paul McCartney, Diana Ross and Taylor Swift.
The UK’s premier music and arts festival is scheduled to take place between June 24 to 28, 2020 even though major festivals and concerts around the world are being cancelled or postponed in the wake of the Coronavirus pandemic.
