BrkFst Time In Miami As Burna Boy Introduces Cannabis Brand

Nigeria’s Grammy award-winning artiste, Burna Boy, has added another colourful feather to his already decorated cap.

In partnership with Jokes Up/Ice Kream, Burna launched his Cannabis brand ‘BrkFst’, inspired by the lyrics of his hit single ‘Last Last’ last month in South Beach, Miami.

“Na everybody go chop breakfast,” became a popular slang in Nigeria, which simply infers that everyone will most certainly be heartbroken.

Burna Boy was alleged to have most likely embraced weed (Igbo) and alcohol (shayo) as a coping mechanism when dealing with the aftermath of a relationship gone sour.

‘Last Last’ is the first single released from his latest album, ‘Love, Damini,’ which was released on July 8th, 2022, through Atlantic Records.

Coinciding with the Miami Carnival, the all-day celebration started with a three-hour Pop Up, followed by Brunch at Miami Diner and had the team representing Burna Boy headlining at the all-white themed Tipsy Musical Festival at Bayfront Park, which closed out at 11pm.

Burna became the first African artiste to headline a Caribbean festival featuring performances by Machel Montana, Skinny Fabulous, Teejay, Voice, Hypasounds, among others.

The artiste had in an interview last year opined that the ban of cannabis in Nigeria was because people shy away from discussing it, adding that “It’s not a zero-tolerance. It’s like everybody does it, but nobody wants to be the one that is seen with it. It’s just kind of hypocritical out there. Everybody smokes weed.”
