*As Man of God Clinches Best Nigerian Film
*Mama Rainbow gets Life Achievement Award

The 18th edition of the Africa Movie Academy Awards (AMAA) came to a pulsating end last night in Lagos after a full week of activities.
The awards night, which was the highlight of the week-long event, saw several films by Africans and people of African descent from across the world nominated in different categories walk away with plaques of recognition.
Tanzanian feature film, ‘Tug of War’, dominates the glittering night with five awards, including Best Film, Best Film in an African Language as well as Best Actress in a Leading Role for Ikhlas Gafur Vora.
Bolanle Austen-Peters’ feature film, ‘Man of God’, picked up the NFVCB Award for Best Nigerian Film and Best Achievement in Costume Design.
‘Surviving Gaza’, the hard-hitting South African film, won Vusi’Africa Sindane the Best Director award. It also picked up awards for Best Achievement in Sound and Best Achievement in Visual Effects.
Veteran Yoruba actress, Esther Idowu Phillips, popularly known as Iya Rainbow, was also bestowed with a lifetime achievement award, which she personally received in her full worship regalia.
