BBNaija ‘Lockdown’ Edition Recorded Over 900 Million Votes

More than 900 million votes were entered during the Big Brother Naija ‘Lockdown’ show, MultiChoice has announced.

In contrast, the 2019 edition, tagged BBNaija ‘Pepper Dem’ recorded 240 million votes, making this year’s the biggest ever since the series launched in 2006.

“#BBNaijaLockdown recorded over 900million votes across all voting platforms! We stan these fans!!!🙌,” DSTV Nigeria announced today via its official twitter handle.

Ogun state-born Laycon emerged winner of the 10-week show which ended on Sunday, carting away ₦85 million worth of prizes.

The 26-year-old rapper and graduate of Philosophy from the University of Lagos broke the record of earning the highest votes in this year’s finale with 60% of the total votes cast.

The ‘Lockdown’ edition is an improvement on previous editions by total votes cast and grand prize totalling ₦85 million.
