The Nigerian Film Corporation (NFC) has announced the date for this year’s edition of its Zuma Film Festival (ZUFF).

The festival with ‘Content Connectivity – 2: Every view, everywhere’ as its theme will hold from December 1 to 7 in Abuja.

However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it would be a combination of virtual and physical activities.

NFC’s Head of Public Affairs, Brian Etuk, disclosed in a statement that Zuma would, among others, “focus on sustaining the conversation on harnessing the potentials and opportunities inherent in digital content production, marketing and distribution.”

He said that submission of entries for the festival is ongoing till September 15.
No effort, Etuk added, would be spared to ensure that 2020 edition sustains the narratives that Nigeria is the hub of film production activities in Africa.

Etuk quoted the NFC Chief Executive, Dr Chidia Maduekwe as saying that the vast growth and the great potentials within the film sector makes it imperative to have platforms like the festival where content developers and producers have access to funding, marketing, distribution and exhibition opportunities.

Filmmakers interested in submitting entries for ZUMA 2020 should send their works through the free film way platform www.filmfreeway.com/zumafilmfestival; or to ZUMA FILM FESTIVAL Secretariat, Nigerian Film Corporation Headquarters, Jos Plateau State.
Entries can also be sent to s NFC’s Zonal Offices in Lagos, Asaba, Umuahia, Yola, Kano and Abuja.
Filmmakers can also download entry forms from the festival and NFC websites; www.zumafilmfest.gov.ng; www.nigerianfilms.gov.ng.
The available categories are Best Cinematography, Best Script, Best Animation, Best Actress, Best Actor, Best Documentary, Best Foreign Film, Best Student Film, Best Picture and Best Indigenous Film.
