Yuletide Relaxation: Lagos Residents Get Free Access To Parks, Longer Visiting Hours

The Lagos State Parks and Gardens Agency (LASPARK) has announced special arrangements to enhance the Christmas experience for residents and visitors, including free access to all parks under its management and extended closing hours.

In a statement shared on the Lagos State Government’s official facebook page on Friday, the agency said all LASPARK-managed parks will be open to the public at no cost from 12:00 noon to 8:00 pm daily from Thursday, December 25, to Saturday, December 27, 2025. The initiative, it said, is aimed at promoting family bonding, recreation, and healthy living during the festive season.

LASPARK also announced that park closing times have been extended from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm throughout the three-day period to give residents additional time to relax, enjoy festive decorations, and create lasting memories with friends and loved ones.

The agency noted that the initiative aligns with the Lagos State Government’s commitment to providing accessible, safe, and well-maintained green spaces that support leisure, wellness, and social interaction.

According to LASPARK, the extended hours are particularly designed to accommodate residents with busy schedules who may prefer to visit the parks later in the day during the holidays.

While entry will be free during the festive period, the agency clarified that normal terms and conditions will continue to apply to group bookings, organised events, and special activities, urging interested parties to make necessary arrangements in advance.

LASPARK assured the public of adequate security, cleanliness, and effective facility management across all parks to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience.

“Residents are encouraged to visit their local parks, unwind in nature, and celebrate responsibly,” the statement added, as the agency wished Lagosians a Merry Christmas and a joyful festive season.
