Yeye Fatima Martins Becomes Yeyeoge Of Owu Kingdom

It was a special October 1 ceremony for the delectable Yeye Nana Fatima Oluwatumininu Martins when she was conferred with the chieftaincy title of Yeye Oge of Owu Kingdom, in Ogun State by HRM, Oba (Dr.) Olusanya Adegboyega Dosunmu, CON, Amororo 2, Oluwu of Owu Kingdom.


The colourful conferment ceremony took place at the Olowu’s palace at Oke Ago Owu in Abeokuta, Ogun State capital.
Nigeria’s former president and prominent Owu son, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, GCFR, together with his wife, were special guests at the ceremony.


The reception for the high-octane event was held at the DLK Event Centre in Abeokuta where the ageless Juju music sensation, Queen Ayo Balogun, entertained the guests.


The new Yeyeoge Of Owu Kingdom is the wife of amiable businessman, Chief Rotimi Martins, who is the Jagunmolu of Owu Kingdom.


Other guests at the ceremony included the Agura of Gbagura, Oba Babajide Bakre; prominent Lagos corporate player, Otunba Stephen Ojo; former Lagos State Commissioner for Tourism, Arts and Culture, Mr. Steve Ayorinde; former Chief Press Secretary to Governor Akinwunmi Ambode, Mr. Habib Aruna; a retired Director in Lagos State Civil Service and former Special Adviser, Mr. Niyi Popoola and several members of the prestigious Island Club, Lagos.
