As music lovers await the formal announcement of the host city for this year’s edition of All Africa Music Awards (AFRIMA), the organisers of the continental platform has had a two-in-one celebration to celebrate its Patron, Mr. Bisi Onasanya and Jury members who are currently in Lagos, adjudicating on submitted entries for this year.
Tagged the AFRIMA Patron’s Dinner 2022, the event held last Wednesday at EbonyLife Place on Victorial Island, Lagos.
Like last year’s edition which held at Eko hotel, the Patron’s Dinner was hosted by Onasanya, a former Group Managing Director of First Bank Plc who is now a frontline player in the high-end real estate business in Nigeria.
The dinner was also used to celebrate Onasanya’s 61st birthday.
“This is also an opportunity to say thank your to our distinguished AFRIMA Jury members and the media for their sacrifices and contributions to the growth and development of African music,” said AFRIMA President, Mike Dada, at the event which was attended by top artistes and media executives.
Although a formal announcement is expected next month, TCN gathered that this year’s edition of the four-day music show is planned to hold at a East African country rich in minerals and renowned for one of the most popular brands of music in Africa.
If that happens, it will be the second time that the ceremony will hold outside Nigeria since its inception in 2014.
Accra, Ghana was the host city in November 2018.
