WTM 2020 Set To Identify Trends, Innovations To Shape Travel, Tourism Industry Post COVID 19

Following the devastating effect that COVID19 pandemic has had on the travel and tourism industry, the 40th edition of the World Travel Market, WTM London 2020, is set to identify the trends and innovations that will shape the future of the industry and show the path that lies ahead.

To this effect, for three days, industry experts, stakeholders, trade visitors, investors, and the general public will engage in live conference sessions, forums, and debates to discuss issues as they affect the industry.

According to a statement by Reed Exhibitions Limited, the organizers of the event, while announcing the dates of the 2020 edition of the WTM, this year’s edition will take place online due to COVID 19 pandemic and ensure that the WTM is accessible to everyone within the travel industry.

“This year has been a challenge for many of us, and to ensure that the WTM London 2020 is accessible to everyone within the travel industry we have decided to go virtual. We are facilitating a completely virtual event that is taking place on 9-11 November. The main aim is to help recover and rebuild and shape the travel industry at a time when it needs it the most. The virtual event will focus on restoring and developing business connections, growing your network, your brand, and learning how to make your comeback.

The virtual event will take place across three days, from 7 am-10 pm, to allow access from the different zones across the globe. The live conference sessions and forums will be tackling some of the issues the industry is facing today, as well as speed networking sessions, one-to-one meetings, and virtual networking opportunities. We want to keep the global travel conversation alive and help deliver new connections as well as offering a wide range of online business opportunities.

We will address the impact the global health pandemic has had on the travel and tourism industry and discuss a road map to recovery, identifying the trends and innovation shaping the future of the industry and show you the path that lies ahead” the statement reads.

The organizer assured trade visitors of the same networking experience which will be the same as the physical conference.

“WTM virtual will offer exactly the same networking opportunities, conferences, and workshops as our live event – instead of navigating the ExCel, you’ll be able to access everything via our online platform.

In fact, you’ll have access to all conference content on demand for the three days – so no running between theatres to make sure you don’t miss out on the best sessions,” the statement added.
