It was an epic night as fast rising 26-year-old rapper, Olamilekan ‘Laycon’ Agbelese, emerged winner of the 2020 Big Brother Naija Lockdown Show.
Obviously the people’s favourite, Laycon who many have described as a “man of grace”, beat Nengi, Vee, Neo and Dorathy to the ₦85 million grand prize. The voting analysis revealed he clinched 60% of viewers’ votes.
He was also the first BBNaija housemate to garner 1.2 million followers on Instagram while the reality show was still on.
Typical of BBNaija finales, the show’s host, Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, announced Vee as the first out of the five finalists to be evicted from the house for the night.
Next, Neo was announced as the second housemate for eviction for the night, followed by Nengi. This left Dorathy and Laycon in the house, waiting to be invited to join Ebuka on stage.
The finale also saw performances from Cavemen, Bob Cadini, Fireboy DML and Rema. There was also a surprise performance from Davido and Mayorkun as they performed their latest hit songs ‘Betty Butter’ and ‘FEM’.
With his victory, Laycon carted away ₦30 million cash prize; a two-bedroom apartment courtesy Revolution Plus; an SUV from Nigerian automaker, Innoson Motors; a trip to Dublin courtesy Guinness; and home appliances courtesy Scanfrost.
Others are a trip to Dubai packaged by Travelbeta; a year’s supply of Indomie noodles, Munch it, and Colgate toothpaste; a year’s supply of Pepsi; a branded chiller; a trip to watch the UEFA Champions League finale; and a brand new Oppo mobile smartphone.
Aside winning the ultimate prize, Laycon also won over ₦6 million in cash during his stay in the house. He bagged a marketing campaign deal, skincare products, free food supply, homecare products, ambassador deal, a trip to Scotland and $500 Bitcoin
