The production company, Live Theatre Lagos, will stage its play, ‘What Men Want’ on Sunday, October 27 at the Radisson Blu Anchorage Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos by 3 pm and 6 pm.

‘What Men Want’ is a satirical comedy about life, love, faith, marriage and everything in between featuring Diana Agbede and MaryAnn Ivy Amakor. It is written by Adelarin Awotedu, commissioned and produced by Adenugba Oluwanishola for Live Theatre Lagos, and directed by Ajibola Fasola.

The play deals with the attitudinal and life changes that happen in marriage and how men and women struggle to determine the best forms of behaviour to have and maintain a good and successful marriage.

It opens with Morenikeji reminiscing on her past, about how she and her husband, Kunle, lived like young lovers with their children away in school. Suddenly, her disposition changes as she recalls the latest fancy from her husband. But she doesn’t worry too much because they already have their desired number of children. The late nights he keeps is not of much consequence and the children are doing quite well in school.

Morenikeji gets the shock of her life when Susan walks into say she is Kunle’s new wife. Though enraged, Morenikeji takes it lightly. However, conflict ensues between the two women, making Susan to finally move into her husband’s house to prove she is the second wife. It is one issue or the other as the two women cohabit.

The two women later become friends, when the rumour of their husband’s plan of taking a third wife filter in. Susan tries to locate the new lover, a 60-year-old woman. The resolution of the conflict makes for interesting viewing as we get to know what men really want.

The play is free for the public but people interested in watching need to reserve their seats online.
