Two weeks after meeting Afrobeat star, Davido, legendary highlife musician, Bright Chimezie has joined Sony Music West Africa.

The leading global music publisher made this known at the weekend in a series of posts on its official Instagram page.

Announcing the development, it wrote “SMP is honored to announce the introduction of the Legendary and extraordinary Bright Chimezie into the family. The creator of the Zigma sound has joined the Sony Music Publishing (SMP) West Africa.”

Recall that Chimezie met with Davido in May, after Davido’s public acknowledgement that Chimezie’s album inspired his popular track ‘With You’ which features Omah Lay.

This development comes a few days after Davido former signee, Mayorkun disclosed that the singer helped him secure his deal with Sony Music.
