Filmmaker and actress, Toyin Abraham Ajeyemi has expressed her gratitude to fans for supporting her latest film, “Alakada Bad and Boujee,” which has broken records with over 50 million naira at the box office.

In a lengthy Instagram post, Toyin thanked her fans for their love and support, subtly shading those who offer gifts to entice fans to watch their films.

Although she didn’t mention names, actresses Funke Akindele and Mercy Aigbe have been known to offer gifts to fans at cinema screenings.

She wrote on Instagram: “With an overwhelming outpouring of love, kindness, and compassion from fans all across the country, we were able to make this as our opening weekend figure. Thank you for watching and supporting us.

“Without expecting gift or inducement at the box office to buy our tickets, you’ve stood by us, and we are deeply grateful.

“However, we’ve learned that #AlakadaBadAndBoujee isn’t showing in many cinemas.

“Nigerians, thank you from the bottom of my heart! This support means the world to me. Please, let’s keep the momentum going—spread the word far and wide, Alakada Bad and Boujee! Is showing in all the cinemas. I love you all endlessly.”
