Grammy Award-winning Afrobeats singer, Wizkid, has pushed back his planned North American tour in support of ‘More Love, Less Ego’ a day before it was expected to kick-off.

The shift was due to what the singer described as “unforeseen circumstances.”

In a statement posted on Twitter on Wednesday March 1, the Afrobeats singer wrote: “Due to unforeseen circumstances the Wizkid — More Love, Less Ego Tour has been postponed to Fall 2023. All tickets purchased for the originally scheduled shows will be honored on the new dates at the respective venues. Stay tuned for more information.”

The tour, which was slated to begin on Friday March 3, 2023 at the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas, would have kept the Wizkid on the road till May 28, with a gig at Loandepot Park in Miami.

With the latest development, the concerts are expected to hold anytime between September and December this year.

He had previously announced a collection of North American tour dates for the release of his grammy-nominated fifth studio album, and was scheduled to land in 20 cities stateside this upcoming spring.

Other North American cities where the singer was scheduled to perform included Dallas, Orlando, Miami, Atlanta, Philadelphia, Brooklyn, Montreal, Toronto, Detroit, Chicago, Seattle, and San Francisco.

Wizkid is also billed to perform at Afro Nation at the Portimao Beach, Portugal later in June.
