Tourism In COVID-19 Era: Galilee Institute Presents Crisis to Opportunity Masterclass

As global economies gradually emerge from the throes of the COVID-19 pandemic, Galilee International Management Institute; a leading capacity building institute, is organising a Masterclass to equip tourism practitioners with the tools to deal with the pandemic.

Titled “Tourism in the COVID 19 Era – from Crisis to Opportunity, the Online course is scheduled to take place between September 7 to October 22, 2020.

According to a statement made available to TCN by Galilee International, the course has become imperative as tourism practitioners deal with the new normal brought about by the pandemic.

“The tourism industry has been heavily hit by the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. How can tourism professionals be more proactive to enhance their competitive position? Galilee International Management Institute is now offering Tourism in the COVID 19 era – From crisis to opportunity Online (LIVE) course.

“This course will focus on practical guidelines for optimizing the current period, promote sustainable tourism and resilience, provide the best tourist experience, and develop effective business strategies. With our expert’s help, you will be better prepared for the COVID19 era” the statement reads in part.

The organizers reiterated the importance of the tourism sector, hence the need for practitioners to be well equipped with the right skill set for the onerous task of playing a key role in rural development and employment generation.

“International tourism is an important growth driver for developing economies and plays a key role in rural development and employment. However, the COVID-19 pandemic is causing a drop of some 80% in global tourism, with severe consequences for tourism-related organizations. How can national and regional tourism organizations leverage this crisis into an opportunity?

“This course will focus on practical guidelines for optimizing the current period, promote sustainable tourism and resilience, provide the best tourist experience, and develop effective business strategies. With our expert’s help, you will be better prepared for the COVID19 era,” the statement added.

The organizers disclosed that the course was designed for professionals in the tourism sector, Governmental Decision-Makers, Investors, Entrepreneurs, Tourism Officers amongst others.

Some of the topics expected to be covered include The WOW effect: Improving the tourists’ experience, Enhancing Tourism Sustainability: From Theory To Practice, Business Development and Innovation for a Dynamic Environment, Tourism Entrepreneurship: Top-Down And Bottom-Up Growth Strategies, Destination Resilience Toolbox: Learnings For The Next Crisis and will take place on the Zoom platform.
