Tems Beats Tyla, Rema, Others To Become ‘Top Afropop Artist Of 2024’

Nigerian Afrobeats singer Temilade Openiyi, popularly known as Tems, has emerged as the top Afropop artist of 2024, clinching the title with her hit song ‘Love Me Jeje’.

The Nigerian singer-songwriter triumphed over fierce competition, securing the number one spot on the prestigious list of top Afropop songs of the year.

Tems’s success comes as no surprise, with ‘Love Me Jeje’ capturing the hearts of listeners worldwide.

Her effortless blend of Afropop, R&B, and soulful melodies has made her a standout figure in the global music scene.

Hot on her heels is Nigerian sensation Rema, whose energetic track ‘Ozeba’ took the number two position.

South African artist Tyla also made waves, claiming the third spot with her chart-topping track ‘Jump’, featuring Gunna and Skillibeng.

Other notable Nigerian artists who made the list include Ayra Starr (10th) with ‘Lagos Love Story’, Asake (11th) with ‘Active’, and Victony (15th) with ‘Risk’.
