Former Big Brother Naija housemate, Uriel Oputa has warned those who “downplay” women’s achievements on the basis of them not being married to desist from doing so.
She lamented that in Nigerian society no matter how much a woman achieved, she hasn’t accomplished anything if she is not married.
The 35-year-old singer stated that the notion was flawed, adding that some women chose to be unmarried.
On her Instastory, Uriel wrote: “In Nigeria, if you like be a billionaire, have the most successful business, be the most famous, you haven’t accomplished anything unless you are married.
“Very useless mindset. Some women actually don’t want to get married. Stop downplaying women’s achievements because of marriage.”
