Saudi Arabia Enhancing Tourism Cooperation With Thailand

by The Culture Newspaper July 7, 2024

Saudi Tourism Authority (STA) chief executive and board of directors’ member Fahd Hamidaddin received the Kingdom of Thailand’s ambassador to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Darm Boontham, at the STA headquarters in Riyadh.

During the meeting, they discussed ways to enhance tourism cooperation between the two countries and reviewed joint initiatives and projects that would contribute to the development and growth of the sector in both the Kingdom and Thailand.

The meeting is part of STA’s efforts to collaborate with tourism systems and entities globally.

These collaborations aim to exchange visions; unify efforts; and launch joint initiatives, projects, and promotional campaigns.

Hamidaddin emphasized that the visit is aimed at strengthening relations between the two countries in terms of tourism and reviewing joint initiatives that directly impact the ease and smoothness of the flow of tourists between the two countries.

Ambassador Boontham expressed that the visit is to build cooperation in all fields, especially tourism. He also learned about the rapid growth and amazing development in the Saudi tourism sector during the meeting and followed up on tourism projects that keep travelers from the Kingdom and Thailand informed about the latest tourism offers in both countries.

Saudi Arabia’s rich heritage and traditions have been shaped by its position as a historic trade hub and the birthplace of Islam. In recent years, the Kingdom has undergone a significant cultural transformation, evolving century-old customs to fit the contemporary world of today.

Getting around is easy, as while Arabic is the official language of Saudi Arabia and the primary language used in all dealings and public transactions, English serves as an informal second language in the Kingdom and is spoken by a large section of its society. All road signs are bilingual, showing information in both Arabic and English.

The travel industry is welcoming tourists with exciting offers and deals, special rates, and new suggestions of how to experience and enjoy Saudi Arabia. Take advantage of bargains to visit a new corner of the kingdom, or to tick an experience off the travel bucket list
