RuthKadiri247, the popular digital platform known for delivering compelling Nollywood stories, is encouraging film enthusiasts to take the leap into filmmaking with a new guide on how to turn passion into practice.
The platform highlights four key steps: start creating with what you have, study the craft through films and scripts, join creative communities to build networks, and gain hands-on experience on real sets.
Start Creating Now; Don’t wait for the “perfect time.” Use what you have, your phone, a basic camera, or editing tools. Every short film, skit, or clip helps you improve and discover your unique voice. Study the Craft; Read scripts, study editing, directing, and cinematography. Watch films critically and learn from masters like Scorsese, DuVernay, Nolan, and others. Knowledge sharpens creativity.
Join a Community; Film is collaboration. From online groups to film clubs and festivals, connecting with like-minded creatives opens doors and builds lasting networks. Gain Real Experience; Nothing beats working on real sets. Whether as a production assistant, camera operator, or even as an extra, you’ll gain valuable industry insights and contacts that can shape your career.
These practical insights aim to demystify the journey into film while motivating emerging talents to sharpen their skills.
In addition to its weekly premieres every Thursday at 5 PM, RuthKadiri247 says it is committed to igniting passion for cinema among its audience. Aspiring filmmakers are also urged to subscribe on YouTube to stay inspired and begin their journey in storytelling.
