The Africa Movie Academy Awards (AMAA) has unveiled the trio of Nancy Isime, Rahama Sadau and Richard Ato Turkson as hosts for the 19th edition of the award ceremony.

AMAA’s Chief Operating Officer, Tony Anih, announced the development after a meeting with the board of the Africa Film Academy, owners and producers of AMA Awards.

The announcement follows the hosting of film industry practitioners in Accra, Ghana penultimate week.

Describing the three hosts, Anih said, “Our charismatic hosts for AMAA 2023 are Rahama Sadau, Richard Ato Turkson, and Nancy Isime. Get ready to be charmed, entertained, and dazzled on October 29, 2023! The stage is set for a night of cinematic excellence.”

The 2023 edition of the AMAAs is in line with the strategic partnership which the board of AMAA and the Lagos State Government got into in 2021 before the death of the founder, Peace Anyiam-Osigwe.

The 19th edition is themed Renaissance: Legacy in Motion.

In the same vein, the board of AMAA has confirmed that popular Haitian-born Amerucan actor and producer, Jimmy Jean-Louis, will attend the 2023 AMAAs.

According to Raymond Anyiam-Osigwe, the popular actor, the executive Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu; and Lagos State commissioner for Tourism, Arts and Culture, Toke Benson-Awoyinka, will be attending the event alongside several film practitioners across the world.

The award ceremony is scheduled to hold on Sunday October 29, 2023 at the Balmoral Convention Centre inside the Sheraton Hotel, Ikeja GRA, Lagos.
