Play Network boss, Charles Okpaleke, has disclosed that his production studio is currently working on an exciting new gaming project with popular Nollywood actors, Chinedu Ikedieze (Aki) and Osita Iheme as comic characters (Pawpaw).

This latest feat comes amid plans to launch a remake of Nollywood comedy classic, ‘Aki & Pawpaw’, starring both actors, come December.

The game, ‘Aki & Pawpaw Epic Run’, will be Nollywood’s first character-based game and will be available on Android and iOS platorms.

“We are happy to announce that in line with our exclusive exploitation rights to the brand ‘Aki & PawPaw’, we are at the final stages of the first ever Nollywood Game, Aki & Paw Paw Epic Run, powered by Playnetworkafrica and Playnetworkstudios. Available to download soon by all iOS and Android users,” the filmmaker wrote.

The new games will be developed by Blueportal Software and available for free. Confirming the collaboration, the company also announced via Instagram:

“Blueportal software is pleased to announce that it has signed a mobile platform game development agreement with Playnetwork studios to develop the first of its kind video game based on the studio feature films, AKI and PAWPAW. The game will be free to play on iOS and android mobile devices.”
