PEFTI Film Institute Gets Ministry Of Education Upgrade

by The Culture Newspaper December 20, 2025
by The Culture Newspaper December 20, 2025
The Federal Ministry of Education, through the National Board for Technical Education, has approved the upgrade of the PEFTI Film Institute, accrediting it to offer five new National Diploma programmes.

The approval comes shortly after PEFTI was named Best Innovation Enterprise Institution in Nigeria for both the 2023/2024 and 2024/2025 academic sessions at the National Tertiary Admissions Performance–Merit Awards.

Under the new upgrade, PEFTI has been accredited to run National Diploma programmes in Business Administration and Management, Fashion Design and Clothing Technology, Mass Communication, Multimedia Technology, and Music Technology.

Speaking on the development, PEFTI Registrar, Abiola Adenuga, described the accreditation as a major milestone in the institute’s over two decades of educational service.

“For 21 years, PEFTI has remained committed to educating and empowering youths across Nigeria and beyond. This upgrade is a testament to our dedication to quality education, industry-relevant training, and global-standard facilities. It opens even bigger doors for young people to build careers, create opportunities, and shape the future of entrepreneurial and creative industries,” Adenuga said.

Founded in 2004, PEFTI is a multiple award-winning institution with a reputation for innovation and skills-based training. The institute currently operates from two campuses in Ajao Estate, Lagos State; and Ibadan, Oyo State.

Education stakeholders say the latest NBTE approval further strengthens PEFTI’s position as a leading institution for technical, creative and entrepreneurial education in Nigeria, while expanding access to nationally recognised qualifications for young Nigerians.
